This year marks the conclusion of the international road safety film festival competition, “CIAK SI GUIDA” for the 2016/17 academic year, promoted by the Milan Municipal Police. The initiative is part of the INSIEME project under the National Road Safety Plan by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport and the Lombardy Region.
The goal is to raise awareness among younger generations about proper road behavior, emphasizing the importance of obeying rules and developing risk awareness to protect everyone’s life.
Participation was simple: students created road safety ads using multimedia technologies, showcasing their creative, communicative, and technical skills.
Many primary and secondary schools from across Italy participated. A specialized jury evaluated the submitted videos and selected winners, who will be awarded on the contest’s final day, April 7, 2017. The event will include all participating schools and will take place at the Teatro Dal Verme in Milan. The winning projects will be screened during a road safety-themed theatrical performance.
“Ciak si Guida” aims to expand globally, exploring innovative multimedia languages and envisioning an international movement of young people focused on safety and sustainable mobility, aligning with the EU’s 2011-2020 road safety guidelines.
The theme students addressed was sharing road use, with the slogan:
“ON THE ROAD, WE ARE NOT ALONE.”
The competition is sponsored by the Ministry of Education, University, and Research (MIUR), the European Commission, the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan (Traffic Psychology Research Unit), the Pubblicità Progresso Foundation, the Italian Federation of Film Clubs, the Giffoni Film Festival, and the Consular Corps of Milan and Lombardy.
