“The Church emphasizes the responsibility of the media in promoting authentic and holistic human development for the benefit of society. We aim to draw attention to the positive contributions advertising can make while highlighting the ethical and moral issues it raises” (Office for Social Communications CEI – Italian Episcopal Conference).
The event, dedicated to Saint Bernardino of Siena, the patron saint of advertising and advertisers, was conceived 11 years ago to encourage public and industry professionals to reflect on socially responsible advertising. The award recognizes corporate communication campaigns in Italy that, during the current year, have excelled in delivering effective, innovative, and socially responsible messages.
The 12th edition of the San Bernardino Award will take place on December 18 in Rome, at the “Santa Caterina” Auditorium of the Libera Università Maria SS. Assunta.
Alberto Contri, President of Pubblicità Progresso, will speak during the session titled “Food and Sustainability: The Strategic Role of Communication in Promoting Socially Responsible Behaviors and Consumption.”
