Saturday, November 15, 4:00-5:30 PM, Conference Room, Palazzo Reale, Piazza Duomo 14, Milan
Free media seminar open to all: “New Images of Women in Media and Literature,” organized as part of Bookcity, an event shared by all the key figures in the publishing industry. The event’s goal is to highlight the book, reading, and readers as the driving forces behind the identity of the city and its transformations throughout history—past, present, and future.
This event will discuss books, fashion, the best international advertisements, and the new media that are reshaping the image of the feminine. Many guests will be in attendance, including representatives from Pubblicità Progresso, Vanity Fair, Isabella Bossi Fedrigotti, and Italian-Haitian designer Stella Jean (official program).
At the end of the seminar, the winners of IoScrittore, the most important free online literary competition, will be announced. The fifth edition focuses on female literature and will award a special prize in collaboration with Pubblicità Progresso and the #puntosudite campaign, celebrating the best female character in literature.
As President Alberto Contri states, “The campaign promoting gender equality that Pubblicità Progresso is advocating utilizes both old and new media, taking every opportunity or channel that can help eliminate prejudices and highlight diversity. In this context, a literary prize for a novel that celebrates the role of women through the imaginative use of language is of particular interest.”
