OTM 2015 – The Winners

The 2015 edition of the On the Move contest concluded on June 30, with 940 students participating and submitting 203 entries.

Students were asked to explore how sustainability can become a choice that changes everyday behaviors through positive messages capable of stimulating not only cultural change but also lifestyle and consumption habits.

There were 5 categories available (video, unconventional event, social media project, short story, infographic) for proposing creative ideas aimed at reducing food waste, using resources efficiently, and inventing new ways to reuse and recycle products.

The responses were numerous and highly creative..

On July 22, the Jury—Alberto Contri, President of the Pubblicità Progresso Foundation; Paolo Anselmi, Athena Professor and Vice President of GfK Eurisko; Francesco Cesati, Board Member of Pubblicità Progresso representing FIEG; Sara Ranzini, Board Member of Pubblicità Progresso representing Facebook Italia; and Eleonora Sposato, representing the CSR Native group—selected the winners from the 30 submissions that had passed the pre-selection stage.

The winners were awarded during the 11th International Conference on Social Communication, held on November 23 at IULM University in Milan.

Elena Alimonti and Valeria Calcara, from the University of Rome Tor Vergata, with the unconventional project “Water is precious”

Andrea Capurso, of the University of Urbino “Carlo Bo” and Laura Lanzolla, of the University of Bologna “Alma Mater Studiorum”, with the social media project “Mi ci cibo”

Antonella Caroleo of the University of Rome “La Sapienza”, Laura Caroleo, Claudia Faverio and Riccardo Gardoni of the University of Milan and Matteo Pizzolante of the Brera Academy, with the “I don’t buy it!” campaign.

Ursula D’Aquila, Stefania Fornasier, Elena Rostellato, Carolina Scrobogna, and Giulia Senzolo, from the University of Padua, with the unconventional project “Play against food waste.”

Isabella Paciolla, from the Aldo Moro University of Bari, with the short story “Etta the Bicycle”

The jury also awarded a special mention to Alessandro Aimale of the Polytechnic University of Milan for his infographic “Save Food.” For its graphic design and clear presentation: by combining waste data with the anti-waste handbook, the work presents a problem and offers useful, universally applicable suggestions for its solution.

For the special under-20 section of the contest, dedicated to high school students, the Pubblicità Progresso Foundation awarded:

Chiara Belotti and Mattia Gritti, from the Caterina Caniana State Technical Institute in Bergamo, with the campaign “WHAT – Create Objects Safeguard the Environment”.

The jury also awarded special mentions to Silvia Biscotto, Carlo Lauretano, Martina Parolini, Filippo Sironi, and Marta Tomasini of the Da Vinci-Pascoli High School in Gallarate for their video “Expo di gusto.” This recognition was given for their choice of musical language and the ironic approach used to convey sustainability messages to a broad audience, especially young people.
