Milan, June 25, 2019 – A groundbreaking Board of Directors meeting took place today for Fondazione Pubblicità Progresso. As previously announced, Alberto Contri has resigned from the presidency after twenty uninterrupted years, during which the Association, founded in 1971, was transformed into a Foundation and a Permanent Center for Social Communication Training. Under his leadership, the Foundation became particularly active in sustainability and established a network of 100 university professors from 85 faculties and master’s programs in 45 universities across Italy.
The new president is Prof. Andrea Farinet, a lecturer in Business Economics and Management at LIUC – Università Cattaneo, where he teaches Relational Marketing and CRM, Consumer Psychology, and New Digital Platforms. Formerly a marketing professor for nearly two decades at Bocconi University, where he earned a PhD in Business Administration, he also serves as an advisor to prominent cultural and technological organizations such as the Italian Institute of Technology, Fondazione Bracco, Facility Live, and The Ruling Companies. He founded the Socialing Institute, which is deeply engaged in CSR topics.
Prof. Farinet was unanimously elected by the Foundation’s Board among two newly co-opted members with proven expertise and experience. The second new member is Giangi Milesi, former president of Cesvi, with extensive experience in the Third Sector. The new treasurer is Franco Meroni, president of AAPI and a former board member of the Foundation.
All decisions were made unanimously, including the heartfelt applause that honored Alberto Contri for his long and dedicated service in making Pubblicità Progresso a benchmark for social communication in Italy and beyond. It is worth recalling President Napolitano’s words when he welcomed the Foundation’s Board to the Quirinale: “Pubblicità Progresso is a unique case of excellence worldwide.”
