Since 2019, Giangi Milesi has been the President of the Confederazione Parkinson Italia, after serving as a volunteer for 10 years, Director of the Fundraising, Communication, and Education Unit for 5 years, and President of Cesvi for 13 years.
As a volunteer, he conceived and directed the first positive advertising campaign, hosted in 1992 by Canale 5. This approach was endorsed and supported by Pubblicità Progresso, which sponsored subsequent campaigns (print in 1994; TV and billboards in 1999 and 2001).
In 1997–1998, he launched the first integrated-multimedia fundraising campaign in Italy (“SOS North Korea”) and promoted the spread of cause-related marketing, creating the first Italian social bond in collaboration with Banca Popolare di Bergamo.
He is the creator of “Stop AIDS at Birth,” a campaign to prevent mother-to-child transmission of HIV in Africa, which was supported by major Italian media outlets in 2001 and by Vodafone in 2002 with the introduction of the SMS Solidale (charity SMS), an initiative awarded the “Sodalitas Social Award” in 2003. In 2004, together with Pierluigi Bernasconi, he launched the “Voices from the Heart” operation (Cesvi-Mediemarket), which entrusted employees with a corporate referendum to choose the social project to support—a best practice presented at the 4th World PR Festival in Cape Town in 2007.
He has introduced innovations in accountability and governance within the Italian non-profit sector, earning three “Oscar di Bilancio” awards. He transformed the association into a “Foundation of Participation” and assigned the vice presidency to Ettore Tibaldi, Nando Pagnoncelli, and Paolo Magri.
Milesi has initiated and animated numerous networks and collective initiatives:
Founder and director of Tam-Tam Giornale from 1993 to 1997.
In 2003, he contributed to the creation of the Fabbrica del Sorriso initiative and the founding of Mediafriends.
In 2008, he founded the Accountability Roundtable with organizations like Airc, Aism, Cesvi, Lega del Filo d’Oro, Save the Children, Telethon, UNICEF, and WWF.
From 2009 until its closure in 2019, he served as Vice President of AGIRE – Agenzia Italiana per la Risposta alle Emergenze.
Professional member of FERPI (Italian Federation of Public Relations) since 1989 (Non-profit delegate from 2007 to 2011).
Registered as a journalist since 1992.
