Marano Ragazzi Spot Festival 2018

The Marano Ragazzi Spot Festival concluded on December 2, organized by the Marano Ragazzi Spot Festival Association in collaboration with the Regional Education Office for Campania and the Marano City Schools Consortium. Held annually from October to November, the festival involves the entire city to provide a positive and participatory identity for the youth of a territory deeply scarred, exploited, and influenced by the Camorra. In this context, schools have been tasked with the heavy responsibility of offering motivation, guidance, role models, affection, and a vision for the future.

The event, held in partnership with LIBERA and Fondazione Pubblicità Progresso—which has sponsored the festival since its first edition 19 years ago—and with significant cultural associations in the field, has become a prestigious and important occasion for numerous Italian and international schools involved in cine-television production and media education.

Young people of all ages from across Italy gather to express their commitment to promoting values such as legality, social justice, peace, memory, environmental protection, diversity, and intercultural dialogue. Through the slogan and theme “Give a Voice,” the festival embodies the collective effort of a community that, for an entire week, transforms a city once dominated by powerful Camorra clans into a vibrant campus-laboratory—a hub of emotions, reflections, participation, social engagement, and change.

On the final morning, the focus was on presenting the many activities of Pubblicità Progresso. Students eagerly engaged with its President, Alberto Contri, asking numerous questions. Contri showcased some of the most creative and impactful social campaigns produced by Pubblicità Progresso over nearly 50 years, inspiring the young audience with examples of effective and meaningful communication.
