Progetto Itaca Campaign Awarded by Moige

MILAN – The “Silent Film” spot by Progetto Itaca has been awarded by Moige – Italian Parents’ Movement for the 2012-2013 television season. As every year, the Moige Media Observatory, after carefully monitoring the television schedule, has worked on the compilation of the “Critical Guide to Italian Television Offers,” providing a qualitative assessment of the most important programs aired in the protected time slot (quizzes, talk shows, fiction, TV movies, miniseries, series, cartoons, commercials, etc.). The evaluations also take into account the numerous reports that arrive monthly at the Moige Media Observatory directly from parents.

The campaign is sponsored by the Pubblicità Progresso Foundation.

In this regard, Juliana Rosental, Vice President of Progetto Itaca Onlus, received the award during the presentation of the volume “A Year of Zapping 2012-2013”, held in Rome on Monday, June 17th, at the Sala del Mappamondo-Camera dei Deputati.

The spot was awarded a sculpture, “the Moige shell”, created by the artist Oliviero Rainaldi.

Silent Film is the new Progetto Itaca TV spot produced free of charge by Young & Rubicam Group and Filmmaster Productions, directed by Marco Gentile, with actor Thomas Trabacchi as the protagonist.

The spot is set between the late 1920s and early 1930s; the aim is to raise public awareness and invite all those who have direct or indirect experience of mental illness to talk about their discomfort with competent people and structures. Talking is the first step towards a path of awareness, not coincidentally the claim reads “Talking is the first step to feeling better”..

Silent Film wants to let everyone who suffers or has a family member who is ill know that they can turn for free to the Progetto Itaca Listening Line at the toll-free number 800 274 274, and talk to the Association’s volunteers who are specially trained to provide comfort and information.
